Ms. Marie Cappiello-6th Grade ELA

Teaching is an absolute passion of mine. I am so excited to work with you and your child. It’s going to be a year full of fun, learning, and lots of adventures and I can’t wait to see what the year has in store for us! I thought you might like to know a little bit about me. 

I have a 14-year-old son who will be attending McKinleyville High School this coming year. He takes up most of my free time, but some hobbies that I enjoy are cooking, mountain biking, running, kayaking, backpacking to name a few. 

I have lived in Humboldt for the past 20+ years. I went to HSU for college as well as UCSC. I have taught in Santa Cruz as well as Humboldt County. I have an older sister who also teaches. 

This will be my 25-year of teaching and I have taught grades 4th -7th during this time. I absolutely love teaching, and it is my mission to instill a love for learning in my students. I attempt to teach with a passion for my subject so that my students develop a desire to become life-long learners. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
